Vivien Strotmann

Vivien comes from Germany and has joined the lab in 2017 for her master thesis in which she analysed the function of different transcription factors involved in the maintenance of the root stem cell niche in Arabidopsis thaliana. The focus was set on the identification of protein domains that mediate the interactions of these transcription factors using FRET in N. benthamiana. In her PhD project, Vivien aims to describe the connection of transcription factors shared by several different pathways that could potentially combine hormonal, developmental and stress-induced signals to regulate the maintenance of the root apical meristem in Arabidopsis. To achieve this, she analyses single and multiple mutants, as well as transcriptional and translational reporters, using advanced microscopy techniques.
